REAGAN OK'D GASSING OF IRANIANS, PAPA BUSH LOST THE GULF WAR

Frank,

You raise many a fine point. And you are right about the strong possibly of the Iraqi peoples rising up and ousting Saddam. In fact, it would have already been a done deal if senior Bush hadn't let the republican guard walk right through our lines to defeat the northern uprising post gulf war. It might have already been a done deal if we hadn't slaughtered the retreating Iraqi army as they were leaving Kuwait. Slaughter tends to foster resentment.

It might have been a done deal if Reagan hadn't called in satellite spotting so Saddam could gas the Iranians during their horrific war. It might have already happened if US companies hadn't provided much of the biological agents we are now using as a pretense for war. It might have already happened if we hadn't given funds and support to the Taliban to protect the proposed pipeline through Afghanistan, or at least until Bin Laden rallied them against this intrusion. It might have already happened if Halliburton, Cheney's ex company hadn't been selling supplies to Iraq since the gulf war. YES some regimes need to go, and yes, sometimes someone needs to step up to the plate. But the bloodshed that we have already started flowing, 100,000-200;000 dead by conservative estimates, and bombing water purification plants, seems to be punishment enough. And did you know that we are, right at this moment, BUYING IRAQI OIL !!!   Do you really think we are empire builders?  Did the Bush family continue as bankers for the Nazi's during the big one. Go figure. I just don't trust that Bush and his cronies will do the right thing for the right reason.

By the way, we would be having high tea every day if it weren't for the French bailing us out during the revolutionary war. So it works both ways. Hope it all works out.
