am a poet, white-American who currently opposes those in power,
If
this is indeed Amiri Baraka and you are reading this, I would like to say that I
watched the O'relly factor and was appalled by how you were treated.
Every
point you made was cut off, interrupted and disrespected.
The only refutation made by Bill was constant abusive ad hominums, yet in
a free democracy your voice is oppressed. Thankfully
there is the internet where I was able to read your views, which were
slanderized on Fox News, slanted with Red Herrings, missed points, Straw Mans
and other fallacies. I take your
side on many of the issues you discuss. The
only thing I do am not able to relate to in your work is of course the deeply
felt oppression; racism toward the african community after columbus invasion on
these lands, after its conquering which would lead to the american holocaust.
As a privileged white-american, I have not felt these roots, I do not
have these roots, I did not choose my ethnicity nor my class(however; I was
raised under the poverty line) it would be arrogant of me to claim I 'feel' what
black america feels. Back to the
point, I respect what you are trying to do, I wish there were more voices like
yours in america; unfortunately, the powers that be will attack, mutilate,
eviscerated, and destroy all opposing views in this white-fleshed hollow
democracy.

one
of the poets that contributed works to the anthologies a wonderful poet activist
and translator, Zoe died thursday after a year-long battle w/ lung cancer. She
never smoked. She was active and brilliant right up to the end, and died with
her daughters and grandchildren around her.

will miss her brilliant spirit and wish that her journey is filled with light
where ever her soul is traveling today is a day of peace worldwide today i know
she would have smiled from the bottom of her heart because so many people are
demonstrating for peace something i know was very important to her
rest

All those books by people who make tons and are only guessing about what went
on,where you have the unique advantage of actually having been there! Itıs too
good a story to not get the bits right. So drop the other stuff and get to work.

would say 'hero' but you wouldn't like it.) HE SACRIFICED THE FREEDOM OF BEING
ABLE TO EXPRESS UNCENSORED PERSONAL THOUGHT AND HAVE A "NORMAL LIFE"
AS WE ALL TAKE FOR GRANTED. HIS CURIOSITY TOOK HIM TO THE HEART OF HIS COUNTRY,
AND HE REPORTED "FOR THE PEOPLE, AND STOOD BY THE PEOPLE.....
DAN RATHER IS ONE OF OUR GREATEST AMERICANS." WHAT A MAN, ONE I'M
PROUD TO KNOW AND LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE WORKED BY HIS SIDE.
I LEARNED NEW MEANING TO THE WORDS: UNYIELDING, ADVOCATE, FAIRNESS,
SACRIFICE, KINDNESS, AMERICAN, BROTHERLY LOVE, AND PASSION.... AND THERE'S MORE
TO THE HUGE SPIRIT THAT HOUSES THIS STRONG BODY OF DAN RATHER.. HE'S OUR FRIEND.
DAN HAS CONTRIBUTED TO MY LIFE A RICHNESS THAT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO
