HITHER & DITHER & YON ON A LUCID MOON

I croon this toon
for the men on the lucid moon
Neil and Ralph
and Al Phalpha
a rap for the hot hip hoppers
boppers
beating their gums
with silvery spoons
calling for poems
from Santa Claus
because exactly to say
this trip suddenly takes
on a different perspective
Poetry is the Desire
The disease
and misses the mark
whatever it is
and collects a downtown diary
of barbaric yelps
yawps
rants in the pants
I am afraid of 1999
afraid to recall
all the empty memories
made in a wave of euphoria
when I was chasing rainbows
so it goes
looking back with Lot's wife
while the dish on the roof
aimed at the moon
raised new hopes
long live insecurity
long live blabbery net-verbs
long live blubbery net-webs
long live rubbery blurbs
and- coming up tonite
there'll be telefone crooks
selling the Great Passaic Falls
lucid midnite frills
frick frack funky foos
chips of the titles come thru space
falling falling falling fall
in electric attitudes
blue ludes
circled by poetic ravens
the story is a dirty pow-wow
all hearts to dance lustily
to this lucid toon
smoking from ham town
to rte 66
to Joplin missery
punkie dorrie
where poets pull down pants
to get on a moon
where lonely love is no delusion
is just a little old ditty
a promise to dance thru life
is it all for nothing
to sing mooney isolation blues
loose and lucid
go out of earthly bounds
mooning and moaning
crooning
and flying high
hither and dither and yon  ##
