Many more people understand now after Amadou Diallo's murder, in hot blood, that the murderers are being protected by Mayor Giuliani, since they have neither made a public statement nor been removed from their jobs. The New York Times pointed out that although ninety per cent of all New York policemen have never even fired their weapons these four assassins have used their guns several times, and one of them still has another being investigated.

Most people are shocked at the number of shots fired, 41, but then when we find that "only" 19 of them hit the unarmed Diallo, that these police, in some fit of racist conditioned "nigger wasting rage", just mashed the triggers of the automatic 9mm execution pieces, not even aiming, simply spewing out the murderous material manifestations of their ghoulish racial Nazism.

What should shake even those oldest witnesses of U.S. Black National Oppression, is that it is reported that there is a death squad coven of neo-fascist hit men police in New York, whose motto is "We Own the Night!"

Hearing this blew this writers' mind, because I am the author of the poem We Own the Night, published first in Home: Social Essays as part of an essay State/Meant (c.1961) and later, in the anthology Black Fire, edited by myself and Larry Neal (WM Morrow, 68). It reads:

                                 We are unfair, and unfair,
We are black magicians, black art
We make in black labs of the heart

                    The fair are
          fair, and death
          ly white.

The Day will not save them
         And we own
         The night.

Jimmy Garret, used this poem as inspiration for a play of the same name, We Own The Night, which I directed in San Francisco in 1967 as part of a benefit for the Black Panther Party. In the play, the police have mounted a nation wide fascist attack on Black people in the major cities. But the people have armed themselves and are resisting this open racial-fascist terror.

The question Diallo's lawyers and the media must demand to know is, how did they come to use this phrase and why are they using it? Twisting the words to reflect the mentality that allowed them to slaughter an unarmed man, but racism (persecution because of physical appearance), an even more exacerbating aspect of National Oppression.

That is, there was no reason to kill Diallo, no reason even to fire their guns except he was Black. These cops were shooting at Diallo's "Blackness". They were killing Black People. Because, even more intensely than most racist Americans, the police have not only been trained to disrespect, hate, fear, brutalize and murder any Black. They have been taught that they can get away with it.

Further, since the media carried a story, some years before, that certain racist elements of the police and F.B.I., call Black People "Fruhmenschen", that is, early or prehistoric man. Is this slogan another proof that the police are already deeply organized by fascist ideology, which they carry out continuously all across the country. Fascism is "the Rule By Terror" of the most imperialist, chauvinist, jingoistic sector of finance capital.

As for Kenny G, the use of a poem by a Black Communist author by a KKK like death squad of fascist police (similar to how Nazis used the Swastika, the "Black Sign" and ancient African symbol of the cycle of infinity).

Violent repression, denial of rights are two aspects of National Oppression. Another is robbery. This is why Paul Whiteman was the King of Jazz, Benny Goodman the King of Swing, and Elvis Presley, the King of Thieves.

It is obvious that in addition to the more commonly socialized racism of large numbers of police, there now exists, probably nationally, secret Black-focused extermination teams, death squads. Different from the maniacs in Jasper, Texas, only because they have uniforms and are protected by the government, for instance here in New York, by Giuliani Caesar. Just as Imperial Rome protected their legions of soldiers who murdered Christ and hundreds of thousands of Christians. ##
